Avenue of Honor - Keith Stephenson Park - Courier article 16July2015

Excerpt from the local Courier newspaper.

The memory of our fallen soldiers is being honored with a new memorial commemorating their sacrifice. Magnolia trees have been planted along the linear trail through Keith Stephenson Park with each tree representing servicemen who lost their lives during WW1, WW2 and the Vietnam War.

The first trees have been planted in Mt Barker's avenue of honor in Keith Stephenson Park.

The project was sponsored by Business Mt Barker, which contributed $30,000. Chairman James Sexton said the town’s traders wanted to support Mt Barker’s history and help beautify the CBD. “It’s going to develop into one of the best walks anywhere in the state”.
